AC & Heating Repair, Duct Cleaning in Horn Lake, MS

Horn Lake is directly west and southwest of our shop, across I-55 and along Goodman Rd W, Hwy 51 and Nail Rd. Most of the city is inside a 10 to 15 minute drive, so Horn Lake calls get slotted much the way Southaven calls do.

The city grew around DeSoto Village, a planned neighborhood laid out from 1970, and a lot of the housing is 1970s to 90s ranch and split-level on slab with the original duct design. Twin Lakes, Kingston Estates and the streets off Nail Rd came later, and Willow Point and Nicole Place on the west and south sides are 2000s and newer. We see a lot of second-generation equipment here: the original furnace and coil were swapped once in the 2000s, and that replacement is now the one wearing out.

Horn Lake is also where we see the widest gap between homes that have been maintained and homes that have not. If you just bought, a tune-up and a camera look at the ducts is a cheap way to find out which one you have.

What Horn Lake homes usually need

Mostly 1970s to 1990s single-storey slab homes, many of them three-bedroom ranches with a hall-closet or garage air handler and a single return, plus a band of 2000s-and-newer builder-grade homes on the west and south edges. Ground-mounted package units beside the house are more common here than in the newer suburbs. A good number of homes have had one system replacement already, often with equipment sized to match the old unit rather than the house.

Undersized returns and frozen coils

A single hallway return on a 1970s ranch starves the blower, especially after a thicker filter goes in. Low airflow drops coil temperature and the coil ices over on humid days.

Package units on the ground

Pad-mounted package units take on grass clippings, leaves and sometimes standing water. Corroded coils and rusted cabinet bottoms are common on units past ten years.

Second-generation systems wearing out

The 2000s replacement in a 1970s house is often at 15 to 20 years itself. We walk you through the repair-versus-replace math before anyone spends money.

Leaky supply runs in older attics

1970s and 80s flex and duct board in the attic often has separated joints and crushed runs, which pulls attic air and dust into the house and pushes up the power bill.

What we do in Horn Lake

Horn Lake homeowners ask

Is all of Horn Lake in your service area?+

Yes. 38637 is covered end to end, from DeSoto Village and the Hwy 51 corridor to Willow Point and Nicole Place on the south and west sides.

How fast can you get here?+

Same-day on most weekdays. Horn Lake is about 10 to 15 minutes from the shop, so it is usually the next stop after a Southaven call. Emergency and after-hours service is available.

Is duct cleaning worth it on a 1970s house?+

Often, yes, and sometimes more than on a newer house. Decades of owners, pets and renovations leave a lot in the runs. We put a camera in first and show you; if the ducts are clean we say so. A single-system home runs $399 to $699.

What will a repair cost?+

Diagnostic is $89 to $129, applied to the repair. Common parts like a capacitor, contactor, motor or thermostat run $150 to $650; refrigerant or compressor work runs $350 to $2,400. Flat-rate, in writing, before we start.

Are you a licensed Mississippi contractor?+

Yes: Mississippi Mechanical/Refrigeration #24339-SC and Electrical #26772-MC, EPA Section 608 certified, in business since 2011, BBB A+ since 2015.
